Lats night Georgia’s biggest music award ceremony took place at the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theater.

The “Golden Wave” Awards, organized by Radio Holding Fortuna is the most coveted music celebration in the country. As in previous years, Eurovision stars picked up several gongs.

In Georgia performing at Eurovision can turn singers into treasured national icons.

The latest ESC stars to prove the point are Sophie Gelovani, Nodi TatishviliSofia Nizharadze and Anri Jokhadze who won Awards in some categories.

Sophie Gelovani — who sang for Georgia at Eurovision 2013 — won Favorite Artist of Radio Holding Fortuna for the song “Cold Hands”.

Nodi Tatishvili — who sang for Georgia at Eurovision 2013 — won Best Music Video of the Year, for “I’ve been dreaming”.

Sofia Nizharadze — who sang for Georgia at Eurovision 2010 — won Best Remake of the Year for the song “Autumn came to the door”, featuring Saba Kemularia.

Anri Jokhadze — who sang for Georgia at Eurovision 2012 — won the main prize, Song of the Year, for “Cold November”.

Stephane — who sang on Georgia’s ill-fated Eurovision candidate song “We Don’t Wanna Put In” with 3G — won Male Singer of the Year for the song “I’m coming to you”.

The “Golden Wave” Awards recognize singers across a number of categories and are judged by a select group of industry professionals.

This year the Golden Wave Award Ceremony was a tribute to the legendary rock band “Queen” with Canadian singer Marc Martel, known for his Freddie Mercury voice, invited as a special guest to present a Queen Show for attendees.
